Treating Trump and Biden as equally unacceptable is a dangerous false equivalency that is not conducive to an objective presentation. Trump has destroyed our tradition of the peaceful transfer of power which is at the foundation of our democracy. If candidates only accept the results if they win and refuse to leave office if they lose, citizens will no longer be able to hold office holders accountable. That in turn will endanger our freedom and overall well being. Trump is still losing approximately 20% in primary races where he no longer has an official opponent. These are potential Republican voters Trump needs to attract in order to have any chance of winning. Most people who support RFK Jr. don't know his background (e.g. his medical history and his drug addiction) and his radical positions on issues important to progressive voters (including vaccination policy). In addition, the way RFK Jr. presents himself repels members of focus groups who have listened to him speak. These factors (and others) present the opportunity to drive down his poll numbers quickly and substantially. In contrast, Wallace and Perot has solid bases that were much deeper than those for RFK Jr. Ignoring the potential impact of Trump's trials on the election borders on political malpractice. This includes how the Supreme Court will rule on Presidential "immunity" and how that decision will be processed by likely voters. In summary, I think these sessions should focus more on the stakes, and less on the odds. What are the consequences if we replace democracy with a more authoritarian form of government? If we choose autocracy, there will be no turning back.

To be fair, the Chinese Covid policy was very successful for about 1.5 yrs and then it started to falter. In the end, Xi Jing Ping was quick to rectify course and open up when he realized his mistake. When compared with America where millions died in the process, I'm not sure you can qualify China as a failure. It was a mixed bag which was mostly successful. To say that there was no policy mistakes made before Xi Jing Ping is an aberration. The fact that China became infected with Cia agents was a policy failure in their opening to the West. That's one of the main reasons Xi Jing Ping was brought in, to clean up the infestation and corruption that came mostly from the West and funded heavily by the Western spy agencies.

However, a significant number of Americans appear to be receptive to a new form of government based on the model established by Victor Orban (in Hungary) and facilitated by the Heritage Foundation. I think this forum has the responsibility to inform its viewers on the ramifications of adopting this alternate form of government and how their lives and freedom would be altered by such a change. For example, one consequence could be to destroy the legacy of Ronald Reagan, an effort that is already underway. In particular, exiting NATO would disrupt the world order in ways that are currently being trivialized and misrepresented. Also, I'm not ready to dismiss the Russian threat. Russia has thousands of nuclear war heads pointed at us and is effectively weakening our institutions and magnifying our polarization through sophisticated, pervasive, and effective propaganda activities. What is truly disturbing is that current members of Congress are proliferating Russian propaganda. (Dr. Timothy Snyder explained this to Ms. Greene and others during his Congressional testimony last week.)
